The Maurten Bicarb System does for bicarbonate what Maurten GEL 100 and Drink Mixes did for carbohydrates — it uses Hydrogel Technology to encapsulate the bicarb and carry it through the stomach to be absorbed.

The Bicarb System
Component A — Bowl
The Maurten Bicarb System bowl is designed for accurate and optimal mixing and serving. It is printed with clear instructions, and is sized for single-hand holding with a screw-top lid for traveling and storage.
Component B — Hydrogel
History in the making. The hydrogel component draws on years of research to create a specially formulated hydrogel to encapsulate and protect the sodium bicarbonate, allowing for easy swallowing without chewing. Each serving contains 40g of carbs to help athletes pre-fuel their race or session.
Component C — Bicarbonate
So minuscule, it’s massive. The bicarbonate component contains the groundbreaking mini bicarb tablets — small enough to pass through the stomach in combination with the hydrogel for optimal absorption and minimal discomfort.
